This is a sophisticated and wonderful piece of machinery, that illustrates just how well things can be done, if the right people get serious about something. The SC300 has everything you could ask for in a luxury coupe, and nothing to detract from your pleasure. A savory coupe, indeed.

Our sample presented its soft lines in icy blue metallic, applied to perfection like lush frost nail enamel on a shapely model's hand. Faultless detailing and finish. The bank vault doors open wide to a smooth black leather world; integral wood touches were convincingly the spawn of some exotic hardwood, rather than a petrochemical. There is no question in regard to the reality of any of the materials. The exquisite finish and attention to detail extended to such remote corners as the interior of the glove box. Seating, controls, Nakamichi stereo, etc. were all custom cabin. The satin gloss of the dash bespoke quality.

Thus cosseted we get down to brass tacks, or in this case 24 valves. The Lexus six is strong, silent, smooth and screams on request, although a squeal of delight is more like it. The SC floated along like a magic carpet and pulled through turns like a track star.

Superb balance, excellent ride, sporting attitude, professional demeanor, slendid comfort. A sports car for the Armani suit set. I couldn't critique it, which make for a short evaluation. Suffice it to say that the Lexus SC300 lives up to the image it presents.
